Black Dress S.O.S.

I have been very inspired by the shows at Paris Fashion Week and have been unwittingly integrating some of the looks from next season into my daily looks each day. It’s not such a stretch for me to wear a black dress every day, but I’ve been pairing this basic with the loud jewel tones and primary colors like those seen at Balenciaga and Vionnet.

While we won’t be able to get our hands on these clothes for quite some time, I’ve been scouring the dregs of the current fall/winter collections (and looking for sales while I’m at it) for similar to perk up my usual gloomy black wardrobe. As the spring collections amble to stores, it’s easy to find brightly colored accessories.

I would match just about anything with this Alexander McQueen dress from net-a-porter.

To dress it up as an evening look, I’d collect these Viktor & Rolf high heel bow sandals in bright sky blue.

Or for a more casual look I might wear these T-straps from Boutique 9.

Even something as simple as a brightly colored belt like this one from Marni would suffice.

Some more ideas to perk up your black dresses.

Top 15 things You “Mustache”

Just incase you haven’t noticed there is a mustache phenomenon taking place–and we are all for it! We never saw the void for all things Mustache related, till we saw what they could be added too. So here are our top 15 must have mustaches. And you’re welcome, because you’re about to spend money on things you didn’t know you needed. You’re not going to be be able to look at some of the simplest things in the same way ever ever again.

1- Because your man will be that much cuter with this on. But don’t blame us if all the girls want to talkt o them about their awesome shirt!

2- If your grooming kit doesn’t have a mustache on it, is it still a grooming kit?

3- Because pulling this out of your bag at the grocery store, makes you super cool.

4- Because we’re all sick of seeing the same presents at baby showers, and a Mom to be will truly appreciate this!

5- And WHY wouldn’t you want a Hello Kitty with a mustache?

 6- YES! Conversation piece much?

7- Because your current pillowcases suddenly look so boring.

8- “Can you get me a cup?” and yes please reach for my mustache knob to open the cabinet. #winning

9- Because this makes for great Facebook pictures when your Uncle has a few too many beers at the next family get together.

10- Again we come back to the why not? Why not have high tea, and put on a mustache.

11- Do we even need to give a reason? Never have another boring meeting, or conference call! They won’t know you have a mustache hidden on your finger. But please resist the urge to get a real tattoo.

12- Because you will pretend like you’re hurt just to wear one. It’s ok, we won’t tell.

13- Guys need to accessorize too. And what better way than this?

14- “Let me get that,” looks so much cooler when followed by a reach for this.

15- And last but not least, those amazing TOM’s you see on top! Right? I’ve never worn a pair of TOM’s but I feel like I “mustache” get these!
