Ever in the store and spot something you absolutely love and wish someone was there to share the joy? Now there is a great way to share, with other fashion enthusiasts, a photo of those Tory Burch boots you have been obsessing over or the Prada messenger back that almost had you fainting. Check out the recently launched Snapette.com iPhone app and never feel like you are shopping alone.
This app works similarly to Instagram. For example, a group of your friends are out shopping and one of them spots a pair of Jeffrey Campbell booties they absolutely adore. They snap a picture of their fashion find and upload the photo to Snapette.com, which will feature the picture in the order it was received. By uploading the photo, detailing the brand, location and price, she has now made the Jeffrey Campbell shoes easy to find for other Snapette.com users. This is a great way to share with others your fashion finds you discover when out shopping.
Another feature of this app that I really enjoyed was clicking on the photos and finding out what cities the other users were uploading from. For instance, there are pictures of a Hermes side bag uploaded from Ginza, Japan and grey Jimmy Choo pumps found at a Nordstrom’s in Arlington, VA. To take finding products a step further, you can find the brand, location, price and even get directions to the store if you select on the shoe or bag. Like most social apps, you can follow users as well. In addition you can click “love” if you like a photo and make comments. Lastly, you can also share other user posts on your Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter.
The one downside about the app is that you can only upload photos of shoes and bags. Meaning no dresses, jewelry, makeup or scarfs. Since the company was only founded in January of 2011, I have a feeling this is something that will change in the coming future or at least, can only hope so. Otherwise, I think this is another great innovative app zooming in on fashion and creating an online social environment for fashionistas.
Don’t hesitate to download the iPhone app from the iTunes store and start sharing pictures of your favorite shoes and bags while you are shopping!

If you’ve read my blogs on TOMS and Krochet Kids International, you know I love a great product that also aims to give back in some way. I was walking by the Kids’ Department at Nordstrom a few months back when I discovered Pura Vida Bracelets. I immediately fell in love with the adorable little bracelets, but I didn’t buy any that day. I knew there was some sort of a story behind them, and I wanted to find out before purchasing them. I immediately googled “Pura Vida Bracelets” and once I found out the amazing story behind these cute must-have accessories, I had to have them.
Pura Vida Bracelets are simple, handmade, string bracelets that come in a wide variety of color combinations. The phrase “Pura Vida” means “pure life” in Spanish. Pura Vida Bracelets started in Costa Rica in 2010 when two friends, Paul Goodman and Griffin Thall, discovered a Costa Rican man named Jorge making the colorful bracelets. They asked him to make them several hundred bracelets to take back and sell in the U.S. They continued to have Jorge make bracelets for them and gave much of the revenue back to him in order to create a better life for the man. In less than a year, the company has grown to making over 10,000 bracelets a week!
I love the idea that each bracelet is handmade and it’s super fun to sort through all the hundreds of bracelets that each store carries to find one with the perfect combination of colors that I’m looking for. Pura Vida Bracelets are now available at over 500 stores nationwide and range from $5-$10. Check out the list of retailers here.

We’ve been seeing celebs wearing colored skinnies for the past few months by some of the hottest premium denim labels like J. Brand, Joe’s, Rag & Bone, and more, but recently more moderately priced brands have been carrying colored skinnies in some amazing new colors for fall!
During the spring/summer months we saw skinnies in BRIGHT colors, but this fall look for some deeper, richer colors, which will be great paired back to your basic wardrobe staples like your classic blazer, or simply cardigan. Colors like burgundy, mustard yellow, navy blue, olive green, and grey are just a few of the color choices out there, and you really can’t go wrong with any of those options.
If you’re feeling iffy about this trend, go with a subtle color like this great shade of blue or a simply grey like these below from Gap ($69.95).
Bright skinnies will still be hot for fall, pair with a solid color like black like Kim, Jada, Audrina, or Heidi:
My advice is to go with a moderately priced brand (like the Gap jeans shown above) when looking to sport this trend. We’ve seen this trend come and go over the past few years. Here are a few of my top picks:
Vigoss (BP. Nordstrom) – $58
Fire (BP. Nordstrom) – $42
Cheap Monday (Urban Outfitters) – $65
BDG (Urban Outfitters) – $58
Forever 21 Skinny Jeans – $19.90
If you already love your faithful skinny jeans, you should definitely try rocking this trend. It’s a great way to spice up your wardrobe without getting too crazy.
Which color are you dying to try?!
