Don’t Forget to Take a Picture
Ever in the store and spot something you absolutely love and wish someone was there to share the joy? Now there is a great way to share, with other fashion enthusiasts, a photo of those Tory Burch boots you have been obsessing over or the Prada messenger back that almost had you fainting. Check out the recently launched Snapette.com iPhone app and never feel like you are shopping alone.
This app works similarly to Instagram. For example, a group of your friends are out shopping and one of them spots a pair of Jeffrey Campbell booties they absolutely adore. They snap a picture of their fashion find and upload the photo to Snapette.com, which will feature the picture in the order it was received. If you’ve read my blogs on TOMS and Krochet Kids International, you know I love a great product that also aims to give back in some way. I was walking by the Kids’ Department at Nordstrom a few months back when I discovered Pura Vida Bracelets. Trend Alert: Colored Skinnies!
We’ve been seeing celebs wearing colored skinnies for the past few months by some of the hottest premium denim labels like J. Brand, Joe’s, Rag & Bone, and more, but recently more moderately priced brands have been carrying colored skinnies in some amazing new colors for fall!
During the spring/summer months we saw skinnies in BRIGHT colors, but this fall look for some deeper, richer colors, which will be great paired back to your basic wardrobe staples like your classic blazer, or simply cardigan. Colors like burgundy, mustard yellow, navy blue, olive green, and grey are just a few of the color choices out there, and you really can’t go wrong with any of those options.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
It’s the MOST wonderful time of the year!! No, not Christmas, but close – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! For those of you not familiar with this FABULOUS yearly event, this sale is a Fall preview sale. Starting July 15th, brand new merchandise for fall is brought in at a special SALE price (I know how much everyone loves a good bargain) for 2 weeks only. Trend Alert: Crop Tops!
This spring’s latest trend can be summed up in a short sentence: It’s all about 70’s chic. When it comes to tops we’re seeing hemlines of all different lengths this season. These can be the traditional crop top or a top that is shorter in the front and longer in the back. I’ve seen crop tops in trendier stores like Urban Outfitters, Free People, and Juicy Couture as well as some of my fave online shopping sites (I can’t lie, I was pretty excited to see a “Crop Tops” category at American Apparel). This is further proof that the 70′s are back in full effect. Tees, tanks, sweaters, cardigans, vests, blazers, and jackets are all getting shortened for spring.

BP Fashion Board Nordstrom Style Contest!
We are SO excited at MODE Bay Area to be hosting a style contest between all Nordstrom BP Fashion Boards in the Bay Area! We here at MODE believe in young talent, and the ability and potential that fashion lovers have at every age! I myself started off at Nordstrom, so it’s exciting for me to see so many talented BP Fashion Board Members come together to see which BP Fashion Board has what it takes to win it!
