Fall Hairstyle Trends

With New York Fashion Week coming to an end, there was an array of trends to inspire us all during the fall. My personal favorite was seeing the transition of the summer to fall hairstyles and determining how to create them into a more “Real Style” wearable sense. Luckily, this year the trend is SIMPLE. I’m sure you have all have heard the word “less is more” and that was the focus for the fall. There were lots of beautiful hairstyles seen in fashion shows by Michael Kors, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Alberta Ferretti, but there were three main hairstyles that I found to be best for the fall and easier to emulate.

Top Three Fall Hairstyle Trends:

*Messy Bun – According to Eugene Souleiman, Wella Professionals global creative director, who created the hairstyle at the Narcisco Rodriguez fashion show, “The fall up do is mussed up for texture and roughness to give an air of attitude and confidence.”

*Slick Ponytail- The slick ponytail is an easy go to hairstyle, which was seen in shows such as Marc Jacob, Gucci, and Balmain

*Braided Up-Dos – This hairstyle gives off an earth feel, but is more structured and clean. Also if you don’t know how to braid, flat twists or rolling are easier substitutes. Rachel Roy made the braided up do even easier with a style that meets in the center.  So if you have shorter hair or layers, you won’t have to worry about running out of hair.

Fashion in a Tech World

With recent news of Apple’s upcoming release of the iPhone 4S, I thought it appropriate to look into some of fashion’s best contributions to technology. Looks like your newest best accessory could be your cellphone. Besides protecting your precious electronic device, picking out the right case is also another way to showcase your style. Here are a few examples of some of the newest cell phone cases to hit the market.

Why it’s great:

The Michael Kors iPhone Wristlet is perfect for those nights when you don’t want to worry about where to put your wallet and phone. Here you can combine both and coordinate with your outfit or save space in your clutch. I personally love the red wristlet paired with red lipstick.

Why it’s great:

Love gold? So do I which is why I love Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Metallic Stardust’ iPhone Cover. For those accidents when you drop your phone, this metallic case proves to be a great find for clumsy moments. Pair with skinny jeans, a boyfriend collard shirt and gold jewelry.

Why it’s great:

For all the leopard print lovers, there is a cellphone case for you! Leave it to Kate Spade to make even leopard look simple. The Kate Spade New York Rigid iPhone Cover has a splash of flirty pink to accent the black and white leopard pattern.

Why it’s great:

Are you a fan of Instagram? If you are, you have to try the HipstaCase 100. This case makes your phone look retro in a way that no old-soul would be able to resist. Even better, it case comes with a tripod adapter and a wrist lanyard. Next, which color to choose! Black or white?

Why it’s great:

If you haven’t already heard of Speck, now is definitely the time. These guys are based out of Palo Alto and make some of the most functional accessories for your phone, iPod, lap tap and more. This case is perfect to consolidate your wallet and phone. You can store up to three cards and use the thumb release to access cards.

Why it’s great:

Moustaches are the newest trend and your cell phone case is no exception. Check out yummypocket’s collection of cell phone case pockets available on Etsy.com that won’t break your budget. Flash one of these out of your purse and I am certain all your friends will be asking you where you got your moustache cell phone cover. What makes this case even better is that you don’t need to own an iPhone.
