Street Style: Caroline is Corseted

SS
Caroline’s vintagey style caught my eye.  I don’t think we have showcased this aesthetic here before; from Mad Men to Louis Vuitton FW’10, I think it’s safe to say that the vintage look is here in full-force. The beautiful print, the lace, and the corset detail on her dress are beautiful; Caroline is also wearing a beautiful Victorian antique pendant. [Gallery not found] Name: Caroline S. Street Style: Carla Falls into Floral

street
I met the fabulous Carla on my second scouting trip, the same day I’d met Lindsay. Carla’s flowing floral skirt truly caught my attention–not just because of the beautiful print, but because it was an effortless execution of the (now) very en vogue long skirt. I’m not sure who else is as enraptured by runway shows as I am, but the long skirt is now back in full force (see Louis Vuitton FW’10). [Gallery not found] Name: Carla P. Occupation: High School teacher Age: 24 Blog: Carla Tartare –I’m an erstwhile food blogger. What current trend can you absolutely not stand? More than any one trend, I don’t like to see people who’ve buried their personal style in mindless emulation of trends. That said, if someone looks comfortable, I say go for [...] Continue reading →

Louis Vuitton: Neverfull

When I got my hands on this bag the first thing I realized was how light it was! I wasn’t used to big bags having almost no weight, and as a chronic purse stuffer this was a huge point for me. The next thing that I was drawn to was the changeable shape of the bag. It can easily be extended on the sides for the days I have my kids with me and need to throw in a couple of toys, and snacks, and just as easily be pulled in on the sides to make it more compact and smaller. If you want to know about durability, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how tough this bag is. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it’s been smashed into cars, rubbed against walls, attacked by sticky three year old hands, taken a trip to the beach, and had a few spills on it. The bag looks as [...] Continue reading →

Designer Purse 101

If there is one question that I always hear when it comes to purses it’s, “What should my first designer bag be?” There are so many ways to answer this question. But I think the bottom line is this, your first high end bag should be something that you absolutely love. Probably a purse that you’ve eyed for months or even years. You have likely saved for sometime to get your first “high end” bag, or maybe you’re celebrating a special occasion in your life. Either way, it’s something you want to have forever, or at least for a good while. These my suggestions for your first purchase: 1) Quality. Choose a bag that is made of a material that won’t wear down after a lot of use. Being that it’s your first bag, you’ll be so excited [...] Continue reading →
