How to Get the Perfect Eyebrows for Your Face

It seems like big, lush eyebrows are everywhere in the fashion world these days. From Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox to Camilla Belle, Rhianna and all over the runway of Fashion Week, bold brows are making quite a statement. However, you don’t need a celeb makeup artist or model status to rock sexy eyebrows. It’s easy to create the perfect brows by following a few simple rules.

Pay Attention to Face Shape: While you may covet Kim K’s severe angles, it’s important that you consider your own unique bone structure and brow growth pattern. Giving extreme arches to a naturally round brow line can make you look clownish and silly – think Uncle Leo’s eyebrow catastrophe on “Seinfeld.” Additionally, if you have a delicate face and smaller features, thick brows can look unnatural and severe while those with more prominent features need a thicker brow for the sake of proportion.

Don’t Over Pluck: One of the worst things you can do to your eyebrows is pluck too much or too often. Stick to plucking only stray out-of-bounds hairs, such as under your natural arch or towards the center. Some make-up artists suggest drawing an outline with a white eye pencil to create a stencil around which to pluck. You can find white eyeliner for less than $5 in the cosmetics section of your favorite Bay Area drug store or supermarket. You may also want to consider getting a professional wax or threading and pluck only to maintain this shape.

Fill Em’ In: In order to finish the look, lightly fill in your brows with an eyebrow pencil or an angled brush dipped into powder eyebrow filler. The real trick, however, is choosing the right color. For the most natural look, brunettes should stick to one shade lighter than their hair color while blondes should choose one shade darker. Redheads should select a sable brown while women going gray should choose a soft taupe.

Above all, keep in mind that getting the right look can take a little trial and error. Don’t be afraid to try out different shades and products to achieve the look you desire. As with most makeup rules, when it comes to eyebrows, it’s best to enhance what you already have rather than fake what isn’t there.

Hair accessories are making big statements this year, from Kate Middleton’s tiara, Kim Kardashian dripping in diamonds on her wedding day, and a more wearable adorned comb on Lauren Conrad’s ballerina bun.

On first glance I wasn’t really sure I could wear hair jewelry, I’m not a huge hair statement person. But after trying a high messy bun, I just knew this was the perfect opportunity to wear my 24k Victorian Golden Hair Pins by Meydalle. It instantly updated my look and complimented my furry collared coat.

I love the hair jewelry tucked underneath the bun as the gold plated chains hang below, but you can also wear it on top of your head for another elegant look. This adornment also comes in silver or red gold plated.

My Fave Friday – Kim & Khloe

Kim and Khloe Kardashian attended The Spin Crowd” season finale party in New York City yesterday wearing similar colors but looking radically different.

Kim opted for a high necked sleevless dress with black tights while Khloe wore a zebra print with thigh-high black boots.
