Native Collection by Michael Stricklin

We have all experienced it. You purchase a clothing item or accessory you love, and while everything appeared perfect at that initial moment, after a few times of use, it’s falling apart. Items are not made these days like they used to be. Even high priced items are lacking in the quality you would expect for the price you pay. That is why when you do find something that not only lives up to your expectation, but surpasses it, it would be wrong not to share.

Let me introduce you to Native Collection Leather Goods, the brainchild of owner Michael Stricklin. Stricklin’s company manufactures handmade leather goods made from Hermann Oak vegetable-tanned leather. All products are produced in the United States (Alabama, to be exact), where each and every item is individually dyed, oiled, finished, cut, sewn, and assembled like the way they used to be. With a wide array of items, Native Collection offers iPhone cases, cross-body bags, and much more.

I had the pleasure of reviewing the credit card wallet/business card holder, the leather camera strap, and my personal favorite–the toiletry bag (which can also make an ideal makeup bag). My initial reaction when opening up the package was –”Wow, this is incredibly good quality.” (My friends have been pretty impressed as well). Not only are Stricklin’s designs durable, the designs are modern and contemporary, while still having a classic appeal. This is something that I know will last and last for years, like good leather should.

While it may seem that the days of quality goods are a thing of the past, designer Michael Stricklin reminds us that this is not completely the case. Black Friday is tomorrow and some of us aren’t too excited to jump into that madness.  Sure, maybe we can find some of the greatest deals of the year but it’s really difficult to find good menswear sales at any time of the year. It’s like chasing for gold or winning the lotto when we do find find great sales with great items that we actually like.  Fortunately a friend of mine introduced me to Frank & Oak menswear and I just got hooked on them.  Great quality for the buck and new items every month.

The pricing are very reasonable.  Button up shirts for $45, Sweater hoodies for $50.00, Chinos from $50.00 and up, Fit-form Blazers for $95 to $125.00, and all these pricing are year-round. Each month they feature a collection that are currently trending and they arrange an assemble based on the items which you purchased from the previous time.  With today’s BLACK FRIDAY SALE, button ups are $30.00, Chinos are $35, Polo’s are $25, Cotton Blazers for $75.00.  All you have to do is to go to FRANK & OAK WEBSITE and to sign up is absolutely free.  You can also follow them on Facebook.  They’re great gift ideas and I just got done doing my Christmas shopping for all the men in my family.

I hope this help the readers clear out some of their Christmas shopping.  I’ll try to find some other deals for you but in the meantime enjoy and have a safe shopping experience.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Purist Boutique San Francisco/Website launch contest

Originally from San Jose California, Purist Boutique opened it’s doors back in 2007.  Since then the store grew into one of Bay Area’s strongest presence for carrying an extraordinary collection of rare and hard to find items.  In almost 5 years, owner Kevin Lee, managed to obtain the brands he long desired and created a store unique to his peers.  The store is known for carrying brands such as Original Fake, Nexus VII, Bedwin, Futura Laboratories, Comme Des Garcons Play and recently they obtain UK known Bespoke brand  Tricker’s and Thom Browne.  With new brands, and a new image, Kevin Lee made the decision to move to San Francisco and chose a structure suited to his vision.

After finding the new location, it was only a matter of time that they revamp their website and to celebrate they recently collaborated with Highsnobiety for a contest that allows you to win both colors of the latest Original Fake x fragment tees and a 1000% fragment Bearbrick. Further Details of the contest can be found at Highsnobiety.
