While we are smack in the middle of summer, it seems that retail wants to remind us that fall is right around the corner. While I used to bemoan the annual trek to get number two pencils and college-ruled filler paper, today I have fashion to plan for come September and I happily take the trade off.
I have fallen in love with lace prints for fall. Many prints are going to continue to be big as we transition through the seasons, but chances are they will be more toned down than the super-bright, super-busy trends from spring. I for one am happy about this. While I am truly a summer girl, I love how fall fashion stays grounded; we can all use a step back from the “look at me!” neons and sporty cutouts. Lace prints are certainly on trend and subtle, but will remain classic and interesting for longer than just this season. That means you can splurge, I say, so I am looking at these pieces:
