A closer look at DSPTCH

In 2011 there was a huge growth in population amongst DSLR users.  A lot of consumers caught the “photography” bug and every single person from their mama started to carry a DSLR around their necks.  With the price of DSLR slowly declining (at the same time increasing with each third world country typhoon), it made it easier for everyone to purchase one.  However these huge cameras aren’t  very appealing especially for the style conscious consumer.  Not to mention it can be strenuous around the neck when your shooting all day with your family.  Solution? Get a sling strap!! However not every single sling strap or wrist strap appeals to the majority and each single one tends to give you that “I’m working and on my way to a shoot” look.

A lot of us wants to look like a Sartorialist, and lugging a camera strap is a big no no. We don’t want to look like photographers, but we want to shoot our inspirations.  I came across DSPTCH on a post at Hypebeast and to my surprise the owner is a Bay Area native.  Their products are military inspired and definitely gives it a classic look that has versatility.  I can see the straps worn with casual clothings and even on a suit, with the correct assemble.

The cobra weave patterned wrist straps for smaller point and shoot camera appears more of a bracelet than a wrist strap. If you paid attention, a certain someone at MODE loves bracelets.

I seen so many brands tried to execute a cobra weave pattern on a para cord but failed to actually make a precision patterned bracelet. The small attention to details makes a DSPTCH wrist strap and their key ring slightly unique from others.  With a decent price range, it’s hard not to add these accessories  to your arsenal of savvy clothing.
