Merle Norman Cosmetics: Red Lips

I have a new obsession, you will most likely catch me reviewing red lipsticks a lot this season because I finally found some shades that are just too good not to share. A red lip is classic and timeless and it seems I fell in love with the craze just in time for the fall and winter, when red lips are at their height in trends.

I’ve never tried a Merle Norman product before, but after trying on the lipglaze, I’m a fan. The product I am talking about is a luxurious deep red shade of creamy lip color with gold and rose specks of shimmer in it. The shade is actually called “Hussy,” although the name is not what you are thinking (how scandalous!), it was intended to be named after Merle Norman’s nephews car. Which is probably why they included red cars in the advertisements shown here. It is one of the products from the Hussy Collection which also includes a fab nail polish, lip glosses and lip pencils all in the shades of Hussy red.

I would recommend not applying more than two layers, as it is a very rich shade. It lasts for a few hours and it feels very light and moisturizing on the lips, you will forget you are wearing lipstick!

Such a beautiful shade of red, definitely a must have addition to your makeup bag! At $15 you have no excuse not to try a bold red lip.
