Looking into my closet, the one thing that will stand out is the large collection of jeans taking over. What can I say? I love denim—especially designer denim. A little confession, I often check out peoples’ behinds just to see what kind of jeans they’re wearing. Consequently, I am always in search of new denim brands—high quality and statement making. When I found ROCKSTAR Sushi, I immediately fell in love. Designer Frank Mechaly is the creative mind behind ROCKSTAR. Founded in Los Angeles, ROCKSTAR seeks to propel denim to a whole nother level—something they have done effortlessly. With the signature embellishment of zippered pockets on the back, and a zipper in front for the fifth pocket, these jeans have that extra edge to set them apart. ROCKSTAR denim comes in a variety of unique styles from simple jeans to moto styles, and those with patches and studded designs.
When I received my ROCKSTAR jeans, I was so impressed that the jeans looked as great in person as they are photographed. The denim is made with exceptional quality, and makes for a flawless fit. One of greatest complaints when buying jeans is what I like to call the “baggy-knee syndrome.” Clearly, if my waist and my thighs are small, why would I suddenly have very large knees? Luckily, with jeans from ROCKSTAR, you do not run into that problem, with the jeans fitting well from top to bottom. For once, I can cut down on my alteration costs. Besides the great zipper details, ROCKSTAR pays great attention to detail, adding distinctive elements to each pair, making your ROCKSTAR denim like no other you have owned before.
Unlike most brands, especially denim, ROCKSTAR is all about keeping the brand local. Their patriotism shouldn’t be a surprise to those familiar with the brand, since it is well-known for its American-inspired denim styles with creative flag prints on the jean. Even the interior of the denim pockets are American flags! ROCKSTAR stands by their commitment to support the U.S. economy, refusing to outsource the manufacturing of their denim anywhere else. In response to their decision to do so, Mechaly responds, “As to why we don’t outsource, it is because Los Angeles is the heart of our business—the rock-n-roll capital of the U.S—which is very much our inspiration. It was important to us to be in touch with the city and its pulse. We also did not choose to outsource because it is our mission to absolutely maintain the integrity of the brand.” A brand with unique style and integrity—what is there not to love?
