Frost Cupcake Factory- Campbell, CA

A new dessert shop opening? You know I’m there.

Frost Cupcake Factory recently held their grand opening in downtown Campbell—and let me tell you their name explains everything. For some cupcake lovers its all about the cake, others its all about the frosting. If you tend to lean towards the frosting side of the spectrum then this is the place for you.

Upon walking in, the interior is very warm and welcoming with a fun side. There’s a spot for children to play and read, as well as artwork on the walls depicting all of their signature cupcakes. Just cute.

This is definitely the spot to bring your kids to and the selection of cupcakes is huge. Prices are about $3.25 per cupcake and you can also buy many of the flavors in a mini size.

I wanted the proper selection so I went with Black Velvet, Rose Velvet, Mocha Java, and Cookies & Cream. By proper I mean, it’s a MUST. I’m always searching for the best take on a red velvet, so I had to try the Rose Velvet. As for Black Velvet, it’s a classic chocolate cupcake. Mocha Java—I’m a coffee fanatic—and Cookies & Cream has been my comfort flavor since grade school. ‘Nuff said.

I snapped a few photos. And the results are in: Fantastic frosting flavors, Mocha Java wins best frosting, it was light and almost mousse like. But the winner of today’s cupcake feast was Cookies & Cream by a landslide. The cake was the best tasting out of the batch, with the cookie bits in each bite, and the frosting was as creamy as the center of an Oreo. Mmm…

I would go back to try the Frostfetti and Twinkie, from what Yelp has to say about it, seems like the Hostess inspired treat is a customer fave!

Mocha Java sounds fantastic!! I love anything coffee! Also would love to try the Frostfetti, because my favorite cake mix is Funfetti so it sounds like it would be something right up my alley!

Its days like to day that I’m okay with living in the Central Valley.  Far, far away from all of those beautiful cupcakes…sort of…
