I picked up the new Sally Hansen White Crackle Nail polish this week and was really excited to try it out. I’ve been a big fan of OPI’s black crackle but wanted variety. I decided to paint my nails 5 different colors to get a feel for what looks good with the white and how the crackle worked.
I would say that the crackle does not work well with any gold or glitter polishes. As you can see on the gold and silver nails the white barely crackled and I didn’t like how it turned out at all. Now the texture on this polish tends to be thinner and dry faster than the OPI version and it took me a couple of tries [as you can tell] to get the feel for it. The white against the red and blue looks pretty good, but I really liked it against a light nude pink. It looks like a modern version of the classic french and it won’t show chips, or growth easily.
I would say for under $6 this is a definite must have for Summer! I think it looks best with a light under color, but that may just be preference. I’ll be trying the other colors in the series and I’ll let you know how they work out!
What do you think? Will you be trying it out?
