Ombre keeps reinventing itself over and over. So far this year we’ve seen ombre dresses, the ombre hair color trend; still going strong, and now manicures.
For those of us who don’t want to make a huge investment, only to be ombre-trayed when this fad hits the ombreaks, the manicure is the perfect entry point.
I first noticed this while catching up on my summer magazine reading, and saw Lauren Conrad styling the ombre nails in shades of cherry red to pale pink. It pairs up beautifully with her red floral dress.
To get this look, there are two options ladies. You can either use five similar shades of nail polishes already in your stash (like I did, I think I had a teal phase in 2010) OR you can do like an artist and prepare nail-painting palates.
To go the cheaper and more artistic way, grab four small paper plates and toothpicks for mixing. You will need a white nail polish and the darkest shade of nail polish in a color of your choice. Start with the darkest color on your thumb. You will add your dark polish on each plate, mixing in drops of white along the way with those toothpicks. Add more drops of white polish to each plate as you reach your last plate for your pinky. Simple right?
And that’s it, an easy and inexpensive way to ombrace a fun trend for the summer!

Love this!! I’m going to try it out
