Georgie- Feature and Giveaway

I’d like to tell you about what’s become one of my favorite brands! There are a couple of reasons why this label and the company have become a staple in my daily attire. But first I want to share with you the interview I had with the designer of Georgie–Kamea Bitton.

-Where did Georgie start from?
“Georgie was originally a pant line, known for its flawless fit and variety of styles, from casual to dressy. We quickly acquired a very devoted customer who loves and trust that once they put our pants on they are sure to look and feel amazing.”

-What is the vision that Georgie has for their customers?
“We always build our collection with a verity of body types in mind, we want them to always feel confidante when they wear Georgie. My question to our design team every time we edit the collection is “if you were the customer at the store looking at this style, would you buy it?” if the say no–its out. We would never sell something we cannot stand behind. I also like to put a focus on timeless pieces, most of our styles could be worn for years. We love trends but we try to take our own spin on them in a way would not make them redundant next season.”

-Who is the Georgie woman?
“I really feel that any women at any age can appreciate a great fitting pant, a beautiful top or a quality tailored jacket. We speak to all women of all shapes ages and sizes. We always build our collection with a verity of body types in mind, we want them to always feel confidante when they wear Georgie.”

-Where are the products made? And if they’re made in the USA why was that important?
“We manufacture mostly in the US, but some of our garments do come from overseas. It’s sad to say but due to the economic climate many of the good factories have closed and when we have very large cuts we really don’t have enough shops that can handle quantities here in LA.”

- What is the must have item from the collection?
“For sure our Iconic St Barts and Ashley pants . our customer cannot get enough of them, we manage to reinvent them with every season. I personally own more than 20 pairs, and I could probably add another 20 if my closet could handle it. For resort and spring we partnered up with a small village in India that makes us our Handloom organic cotton Ikat fabrics. these fabrics are of superb  quality and are a form of art. At the same time we are helping to support the people of the village and to keep this ancient art alive.”

-Where do you see Georgie in 5 years?
“I am very confident that we will be in just about every fashionista’s closet. We are a very young and ambitious brand. We have a lot of respect for the way people spend their money today, we understand that we have to make the absolute best product for our customer and at a great price. The fact that people buy our clothes will never be taken for granted.”

I’ve added a few Georgie pieces to my wardrobe and can easily see it taking over! After giving them a good wear and trying them out here is my review!

-Pants- St. Bart Pants
- These pants are extremely lightweight but still have a great tight fit. Now I’m not one to post pictures of my back side on the internet but I want you to see how the pants don’t get “saggy”. Pants tend to usually get saggy and give unless you’ve got a lot of junk–which I sadly don’t. I wore the pants two days to see if that would affect the shape at all. And I’m excited to report that they fit like when I first wore them! Now I am personally biased to the Ikat pants that Kamea told us about. The fabric is an AMAZING quality that is a little thicker than the metallic pair. I can see them lasting for YEARS and every time I’ve worn them someone has complimented me on them! And you have to love that

-Blazer-
I had been looking for a perfect white blazer to replace my black blazer during the Spring and Summer when I saw a white jacket from Georgie I couldn’t wait to try it. Up to now every white blazer failed to give me the texture/weight/and quality I wanted–for under $1K. A white blazer has to fit just right, and can’t pull or have cheap fabric. The thing that sets this blazer apart is that the “waffle” texture of the fabric hides every little imperfection and lays on the body in a perfect manner. It also has a great stretch that you’d never guess was there! Once again the quality of Georgie really stood out. Definitely a jacket that will compliment every body type.
