The week is almost over, and there’s a lot of events on the rise of this first weekend of June. In case you don’t have any dinner plans yet, or even if you do and need an excuse to get out of them, here’s whats on the menu.

National Donut Day: Wine and Donut Pairing
Friday, June 3rd
@ J.Lohr Winery
1000 Lenzen Avenue
San Jose, Ca 95126
4-7pm

What? Yes. It’s National Donut Day! What better way to start off your weekend and celebrate this momentous occasion with four brilliant custom pairings of Psycho Donut “ballz” matched up with ever-so-delicious J.Lohr wines. Psycho Donuts is a local donut shop out of Campbell with a second store in downtown SJ. Not your ordinary donuts, be warned. Instead of glazed and old fashioned, check out names such as “Michael Jackson” or “Nutella the Hun.” And hello, have you not tried the free (and generous) tastings at J.Lohr yet? Well now is your chance because this event is also free. I’m banking on a super sweet combo of a “Cereal Killer” paired with the Late Harvest Riesling. Fingers crossed!

Be sure to RSVP at sjwinecenter@jlohr.com

After you had some wine you will surely be hungry so make your way on over to South First Fridays Art in San Jose’s Sofa District.

Moveable Feast- SubZERO hosted by SJEATS
Friday, June 3rd
6-11:30pm
Sofa District
South First Street in Downtown SJ
Free Admission

Art, events, shows, and you guessed it SJEATS!

It seems like every other weekend features a new SJEats food truck festival, but I’m not complaining. An excellent selection of Bay Area trucks will wheel their way to San Jose’s favorite downtown art festival, SubZERO. The eats meets street party will be going on strong until midnight. Be sure to check out all the art galleries, as it is also South First Friday art walk. Stages will be scheduled with various artists events, music, and a fashion show.

The food truck lineup:
An The Go (Garlic Noodles)
Bill’s Beer Steamed Hot Dogs
Cabana Dave’s (World Cuisine)
Hapa SF (Organic Filipino)
Iz It (Hawaiianese)
Karas Cupcakes
MoBowl (Rice Bowls)
MoGo BBQ (Korean Fusion)
Quick Dog
Tikka Bytes (Indian)
Treatbot (Karaoke and Ice Cream)
The Wow (Silogs)

Full yet? OK, you can either make one more trip or wait until Saturday or Sunday for this next event. This one will be going on all weekend so I suggest to save your appetite for…

The San Jose Greek Festival
1260 Davis Street
San Jose,CA 95126
June 3 – 5
Friday 5pm – 10pm
Saturday 11am – 10pm
Sunday 11am – 9pm

Located at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, the annual Greek Festival is celebrating its 40th year. This is one not to be missed. Authentic Greek food and pastries, arts and crafts, dancing, and, live music and entertainment. Make sure to check out their Facebook page for the event flier, print it out, and bring it to the festival to get in free. The menu goes on and on — baklava, lamb chops, frappes, Greek lasagna, orzo, and now I’m hungry. Chance of rain? Bring your umbrella, at least the lines will be thinned out for Loukoumades.

Got something to say? Go for it!
