Krochet Kids International

Changing lives through fashion is a huge trend right now, and with more and more companies aiming to give back through the sales of their merchandise, Krochet Kids stands out from the rest because of their unique story and mission.
Krochet Kids started as non-profit organization by Kohl Crecelius and his friends who traveled to Northern Uganda and taught women there how to crochet. Since then, it has expanded into a group of over 100 Ugandan women creating an adorable line of crocheted hats and scarves for both women and men. The women are paid fair wages to crochet each item by hand in order to help eliminate poverty in their community. Each hat is signed by hand on the tag inside by the woman who made it so not only are you buying a great handmade product, but your purchase of a hat gives money directly to the Ugandan woman who crocheted it. I love this idea because not only is it a great cause, but it’s specifically all about empowering women. Their slogan is “Buy a hat, change a life.”

For spring KKi has a line of lightweight knit caps out which are perfect for warmer weather. The “Lucille” is perfect for throwing on once the sun goes down, or wearing to a great summer bonfire or BBQ.

Celebs such as Taylor Swift and Gerard Butler have been spotted wearing KKi beanies!
