Editors Notes:
“The success of MODE Bay Area has been a combination of support from an amazing community that I have gotten to know and unexplainable blessings. We now feel it is time to start giving back to the community that has supported us. We will be launching fundraising efforts in the upcoming months, but starting now we will be a voice for those in our own community who just need to be heard. I know that each of you will spread each message and each reader will step up to help where they can. Your thoughts, prayers, cards, financial support, and just hitting that share button are vital to helping each story we share. The internet provides an amazing opportunity to get word out, and get it out fast in order to help those who need it now! I personally want to thank you for your involvement with us, and hope we can continue to give back to our community here.”

With Gratitude,

Jessica’s Story:

At 9:40 am on Sunday, August 2, 2009, Jessica Huse left her home to attend Church services. A few minutes later, she was involved in a serious car accident and rushed to Valley Medical Center in critical condition. Jessica stayed in the hospital until February 2010. She suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and remains in a semi-conscious state.

Desperate to help their daughter, Jessica’s parents have been contacting specialists from around the country. In July of 2010, they received a call from Dr. Defina of the International Brain Research Foundation in New Jersey who agreed to treat Jessica’s brain injury and assist in waking her. The national average success rate for serious TBI injury recovery is 5%. Dr. Defina has an 85% success rate and is sought-out world-wide for his medical procedure. This program is very expensive and we are doing our best to raise money to get Jessica this chance for a full recovery and to assist with the ongoing, daily medical expenses.

Since the start of the Protocol in September test results show that Jessica’s brain activity has improved 15-20%.

Its now time for Jessica to travel to New Jersey, where she can get benefit from the round the clock care of IBRF at Meadowlands Hospital. With doctors, scientists, therapists, nurses and the family’s strong faith in God they believe Jessica will wake.

The family works tirelessly caring for Jessica round the clock at home now and needs to raise funds for medical expenses, travel expenses and to find a plane that can transport Jessica with her medical needs.

We invite you to join this group and support this family with your thoughts and prayers.

You will notice that WHATEVER IT TAKES is the family motto and 10-3-10 has been the times of day we stop to think and pray for Jessica. This started from the beginning when Jessica was in ICU and Jessica’s Mother requested these times to remind people to stop and pray. We continue to do so and Jessica’s Mom updates weekly on the progress of their daughter.
