UPDATE:
In an effort to make sure that the family’s mind is at ease we are asking that gift cards, letters, and possibly small gifts for the children be dropped off. Know that during hard times an encouraging word is sometimes the greatest gift! Please use the OFFICIAL account number provided to donated money to the Bryan Stow official fund.
Just the other day I read about Bryan Stow on The Flirty Blog. I was immediately overcome with emotion. Maybe because this was a senseless act of violence, or maybe because of the the fact that he’s a father and husband. I love watching my kids relationship with their Dad–he’s their hero and my heart breaks when I think of the talks that Bryan’s wife has had to have with these kids these past few days. My thoughts and prayers are with the Stow family.
Here is the rundown of what happened as told by The Flirty Blog:
“There is evil in the world. A few days ago it found father of two, Santa Clara paramedic and SF Giants’ fan Brian Stow. Being the fan that he is, Bryan had traveled all the way down to Los Angeles to support his team at this year’s season opener game.
Bryan was left lying on the ground in critical condition with a fractured skull, swelling of his brain and the awful possibility that doctors may need to remove one of the frontal lobes of his brain because it is so damaged.”
But in an effort to do more we’re teaming up with different drop off locations for the next two weeks [April 7th-24th] to give back to the stow family. I will update this blog as our list grows but I don’t want to miss a single opportunity. If you could take some time with those closest to you to pray for this family, and also to put together a letter or card, and if you’re able to give to the family that would be amazing!
It’s going to be a LONG and hard road to recovery. MODE Bay Area plans to stay with this family and do all we can to help them. Won’t you join us?
