Every girl dreams of that perfect wedding dress, but not many are as lucky as England’s princess to be, who has scores of sketchbook-clutching designers swooning at her royal feet.
Project Runway designers from all eight seasons sketched their fantasy dress for Kate in honor of her pending nuptials with Prince William and the upcoming Lifetime original movie , William and Kate. Which premiers Monday, April 18 at 9pm/8c
Here are a few of my favorites, including Christopher Collins stunning gi-normous ballgown fit for a queen, Daniel Franco creates a breathtaking 11-foot train, Nick Verros sketches a detachable cascading train, and check out Carmen Webber’s garden goddess which includes a hat—bonus points for calling out the emerging style icons love of headgear! I’m liking Christopher Straub’s architectural design—and its blue! A color that could send a few monocles popping out into champagne flutes for sure. Irina Shabyeva’s dress takes the cake, it’s dramatic and flowing in all the right places. Shirin Askari’s sketch is very fairytale princess, just beautiful. And there’s Mondo’s design, all I can say is for any fans of PR, I don’t need to give you any hints which is his. Over-the-top fantastic.
You can find many more sketches from other PR designers here Lifetime & Project Runway for William and Kate.
After you finish checking out these fabulous fantasy wedding dresses, take a look at the new limited edition nail polish by Butter London called “No More Waity Katie” named after Kate Middleton’s press nickname, the result of an 8-year wait to hitch her prince….hmm sound familiar, anyone else? It’s a beautiful rich and royal subdued purple with a hint of shimmer. You’ll be paying a bit of a king’s ransom at $14.99, but unlike a commemorative plate, at least this wedding tie-in is a bit practical. It’s available online, get it while you can at B-Glowing.
An entire sketchbook of designer wedding dresses to choose from, movies about her relationship with William, and a nail polish named after her…what a princess.
