Charity Fashion Show- Shai White

Shai is one of the most recognizable models in SF fashion. Starting in the modeling industry in 2007, she quickly rose as a force among the underground designer scene. In the last two years, with a number of modeling award nominations and participation in nearly all of the major shows, Shai brings a remarkable commitment, passion, and beauty to the San Francisco modeling scene. Walking Charity Fashion Show for her 2nd year in a row, expect another year of amazing moments with her on the catwalk.

1. How are you involved in CFS?:

I had the pleasure of being cast for this show again (my 2nd year!) as one of the runway models.

2. How did you come to get involved?:

Well I did the show last year, and I was so freakin excited when I heard the show was happening again this year, and it will be my last show I walk in before I leave for Paris. It is going to be amazing.

3. What are you most excited about for this year’s show?:

I’m excited about working with new models and designers, because the fashion
community out here is like a huge family, and I LOVE IT!

4. Who is your fashion inspiration?:

My grandmother, she was such a free spirit, she enjoyed life like each day was her last.
She used to be a model, and I wanted to be just like her, except better…

5. What do you love most about the fashion industry?:

The fact that you meet amazing, interesting, and beautiful people you wouldn’t normally meet if you weren’t in this industry.

6. Favorite personal fashion-related memory?:

So I was doing a fashion show, and I had such a “Hollywood movie moment” I was on stage, doing a practice run through, and I was looking around, then my world just immediately went in slow motion. I saw the most gorgeous HOT male model, staring straight at me, and smiling. Everything in my mind just went completely blank! Lol so I decided to go introduce myself, and made a dork of myself. I stuck my hand out to tell him my name, and he shook mine and introduced himself, and we began talking, and he says, “You realize you’re still shaking my hand,” and he gave me that freaking dazzling smile. Such an embarrassing moment, but I think if I hadn’t been in this industry, I wouldn’t have had the courage to meet him, and it led me to an amazing “love affair” lol

7. What is your favorite local shopping spot?:

H&M

8. If you could change one thing in the fashion industry, what would it be?:

That people such as models, designers, photographers, etc. who are truly dedicated to their craft, would be able to get their foot in the door to be really successful in this industry.

9. In five years where do you see yourself?:

An international model, traveling around the world. Working with some of the most successful models, designers, and photographers all around the world. Also being successful with my shoe line (heels).

10. Why should people come to CFS 2011?:

Because it will be one of THEEEE HOTTEST shows of the year, one not to be missed. It’s such an amazing show, and it has been put together so professionally. And it you want a great show, then CFS WILL GIVE YOU an EXTRAORDINARY show.
