So last night two of my best friends were over and the night somehow ended up in a food fight–with one friend covered in avocados. It was a waste of a great avocado, but ended up with a video that only friends should see, and a lot of silly memories that took us back to the good old days.
Well after my friend washed her skin she kept talking about how great her skin felt. And to be honest she had a great glow! So I decided to look into some avocado masks. With the temperature changing so much these days, our skins are going to need some exfoliation, and moisture right now.
I’d recommend a making and using a great sugar scrub followed with an avocado mask to give your skin a great glow with out breaking the bank.
1 mix the sugar and olive oil in the plastic container. I do not recomend using a glass jar for this, since you will most likely have this in your bathroom.
2 add any optional scents you like. I have discovered that adding peppermint oil or orange oil helps refresh you, while lavender is more soothing. My favorite oil to use is sandlewood.
3 to use: place some on a wash cloth and rub in circles anywhere you need exfoliation. After letting it sit for awhile the sugar may settle to the bottom, so it may be necessary to shake this up a little before using.
- ½ medium ripe avocado
- 1 tbsp natural yogurt
- 1 cucumber
- 1 tbs natural honey
This is one of the best avocado face masks for dry skin. Firstly mash the avocado with the help of a fork until creamy. Add honey to the mashed avocado, mix well and then add in yogurt. Blend the mixture well, until smooth. Wash your face with warm water and pat dry. Place two pieces of cucumber on your eyes, then apply the avocado mask on your face and neck, massage in a circular motion so that the mask can penetrate in the skin. Let stand for about 15 minutes then wash thoroughly, pat dry.
