Tokyo Five – Full Contact Fashion

TK5

A little over a month ago I got to give you guys a sneak peek at one of my new favorite clothing lines, Tokyo Five.

While I was immediately impressed simply by seeing the look-book, I was equally if not more so impressed when I held the actual product in hand. I must admit, I was a bit curious to see how they would be able to transition from MMA attire, to trendy, full line fashion apparel. But after carefully seeing the product in person, I can safely say…they nailed it.

Let’s start with the shirt, which is an instant hit in my opinion. The attention to detail is fantastic as the Indigo, Navy, and Cream pattern play well off the Umber accents. A twist on traditional plaid menswear, the Japanese influence is seamlessly incorporated into the plaid foundation to make this shirt distinctively different. Mixing in elements of Asian culture and art in a subtle and well thought out manner, you can’t help but admire the piece when you see it first hand. The end result is something fresh, something new, something original, something uniquely “Tokyo Five.”

As far as the fit was concerned; I think it was nearly perfect. I enjoyed the freedom of movement in the shirt, as well as the cut and wash of the fabric. With a gracious price point to go with all this, I think Tokyo Five shirts may soon become a staple of my personal wardrobe very soon.

And if all that wasn’t enough, Tokyo Five was kind of enough to send a pair of their premium coated jeans our way as well.

If you’ve ever owned a pair of Tokyo Five jeans, you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say that as soon as I put the jeans on, I felt as if I’d owned them for years. They are truly that comfortable. The cut of the jeans was great, with a skinny leg fit that was just right. The stitch work, and fabric were comparable to other jeans I’ve owned that cost two or three times as much. What’s more, staying true to the Japanese motif, these jeans incorporate Japanese artistry into the look and design, giving the piece instant brand recognition without being overwhelming to the consumer.

With their first real foray into the world of full line fashion, I walked away very impressed with what Tokyo Five had to offer. With a distinctly unique look, well conceived designs, impeccable execution all bundled in with a price point consumers at any level can appreciate, there really isn’t a whole lot to not like about what Tokyo Five has to offer.

With a strong initial showing, I can’t wait to see what they have to offer in the future as well!
