Check out our interview with Santana Row Marketing Director, Collette Navarrette and Fashion Show Producer, Beverly Zeiss.
What is the inspiration for this show?
Collette: Well, Santana Row really has become the destination for fashion in Silicon Valley, so our inspiration is to showcase the newest, the hottest, must-have styles.
What Fall trends will be seeing on the runway?
Beverly: Menswear is major this fall. You’ll see men’s tailoring as well as traditional men’s fabrics like tweeds, plaids and herringbone. The Military look is back in full force too. You’ll also see lots of dresses, in prints and all different shapes. Trench coats and coats of all kinds are big–ponchos, capes, long vests. The hot fall colors are camel and grey with accents of bright red and green of in all hues–army green, kiwi green.
Collette: And pearls are the hot accessory, mixed and layered with long gold chains.
What stores should buyers look to when looking for great Fall looks?
Collette: I think all of our retailers have great fall styles! It really depends on your personality and your personal style.
Beverly: Pink Stripes has tons of chic coats at very good prices. For the Indie/boho-chic look, go to Anthropologie. They have lots of layering pieces that you can mix and match. For feminine blouses to wear under you power suits, head to Anne Fontaine. Pearls—Jest Jewels, H&M, Anthropologie. For fabulous boots and chunky shoes, Donald Pliner and Cole Haan have what you want. And Ted Baker has beautiful dresses, very European.
The last show had a lot of fun little treats for viewers, what can we expect to see at this show?
Collette: Let’s see… we have a lot going on this year! We have a photo contest going on all weekend… snap a photo on your camera phone of your favorite runway look and post it on facebook.com/ SantanaRow, and one lucky person will win their favorite look! Saturday night, we are giving away tickets to see Maroon 5. Anyone can enter to win by posing for a photo at the Star 101 step and repeat. The winner wil be drawn right before show starts.
Beverly: And don’t forget the after parties! After the Friday night show, Jay Nicolas Sario will be at the after party at Ted Baker. Ticket holders will be served Ted’s famous “Ted-tinis” and get 20% off their purchases. Then on Saturday night, Cole Haan will host an exclusive after party in their store.
As the producer of this event what is your favorite part of the show?
Beverly: Well, our celebrity guests this year are very exciting! Donald Pliner at the Noon show on Friday, and Jay Nicolas Sario at the 6pm show. I’m really excited to meet both of them.
And I always love the bridal segment. It’s always so exciting to hear the audience’s reaction when a model appears on the runway in a really dramatic wedding gown. This year, in addition to bridal gowns, we are also showcasing several beautiful jewel-toned bridesmaids’ gowns from Priscilla of Boston.

My one regret is not buying the Ted Baker dress I saw several years ago at Santana Row to wear as a non-traditional wedding dress. I really wish I had gone with that, so one day I will find a reason to need a dress and that is what I will get. This sounds like such a fun show! Alas, all weekend I’ll be taking my kids to birthday parties and the beach. No fun fashion show for me. [fb]
Go out Girls and be part of a great event. No matter if you buy or just look at the fashion, its all about being part of something great. I am doing my share at the Macy’s fashion night out in San Francisco, being the makeup artist for the models of that event. Can’t wait.
This sounds amazing!!! (FB)
