If you have ever been ‘down-the-town’ looking for a fab outfit, (and let’s face it, who hasn’t?) then you know just how frustrating it can be trying to find a good purse. Well, search no more! Follow this simple guide, and you will be the bell of the purse ball!
- Decide what you are wearing. If your going to a party, bring your outfit with you. Hold it up or try it on with all sorts of bags to see what goes best.
- If you are wearing a short skirt, carry a clutch bag, but make sure it has a strap. You can’t dance while clinging onto a clutch!
- If your outfit is neutral or earthy colors, choose bright, bold bags. No-one want’s to see a white top, black jeans and a white bag! It would look far better with an electric blue clutch or a purple tote.
- Just the opposite as last time, If your outfit is bright or vibrant colors, compliment it with a sophisticated white New York bag.
- Use a color wheel. If your top is red, get a purple bag. It clashes, but is physically appealing.
Be extremely careful. If your bag is red and your top is a light red, but not as light as pink STOP! BIG NO NO! NEVER USE COLORS THAT ARE REMOTELY THE SAME!

Alright, how many bags do most people have? I have a white Coach, two black Maxx NY’s, a pink Coach, and a brown Coach (can you tell I like the Coach?). I don’t have blue or purple or anything else, but these bags have lasted me a long time and still look great. I don’t like buying random, inexpensive purses just for the sake of having them for a little while…I want them to last and not be so trendy that I don’t use it after a year. When my kids are all in school and I go back to work, I know one of the first things I will buy is a purse and this will give me something to think about when I do! [fb]
