They are called the “People’s Shoes of Italy.” I like to call them the “Converse of Italy,” and the soon to be “People’s Shoes of America.” A brand born in 1911 in Torino, Italy, Superga has been the leading producer of casual footwear for men, women, and children. This attractive, high-quality footwear, comes in your choice of canvas, linen, or leather, with the vulcanized rubber soles Superga is known for.
I had always been a Converse fan, owning several pairs of Chucks in high-tops and low-tops in every color they came in. Over the years however, I have gotten more and more disappointed in the brand. In order to expand their market and attract more customers, Converse has created shoes in every color, print, pattern, material, and style imaginable. In doing this, they have only cheapened the Chuck Taylor name and look, molding to whatever is more popular and trendy. What made Converse last throughout the years was the classic, vintage look and feel it was known for. Sadly, the brand hasn’t been the same for years.
I’m glad to say that since 1911, Superga has changed very little. The brand continues to carry that iconic look it has had for years, making it a favorite amongst young and old. I recently got a pair of Supergas in red and have been in love! These tennis shoes are classy and comfortable. If you’re wondering why you have not heard of Superga till now, it is because the brand has only recently ventured into the American market. Check out their website at http://www.superga-usa.com/ to order a pair online or find a carrier near you. Once you try on a pair of Supergas, you’ll forget all about your Converse. I know I did!

Cute! They look comfy and practical. [FB]
I don't own Converse and I don't think they come in my husband's 13 extra wide size, but I buy them for one of my sons. I'll have to check Superga out!
I think Converse are better! =]
