Sino-Santana Row

l

I didn’t know this until I went to sino but crab cakes can actually melt in your mouth if they are made right. And ohmygoodness do they make them right at sino!!!  I’ve been to sino before and have tried their dim sum but I’ve never had what I got this last time and I think they put crack in the seafood cuz I want more!!!

We started out with the shrimp won ton soup. This I’ve had before but I think they changed the recipe. It was absolutely full of flavor!! It reminded me of pho because the broth was soooooo delicious!! There was no weird seafood smell or bad flavor yet it tasted like seafood broth. I don’t know how they did it but I’m in love! The wonton soup had baby bok choy and seaweed in it. The bok choy didn’t fall apart in my mouth but wasn’t weird and crunchy either – perfectly prepared!

Next we had the salt and pepper prawns. Dave said they need sauce after he had the first one. I said let’s try this soy sauce that’s conveniently sitting on the table. The prawns went from bland to kaboom with a few drops of soy! After his second one Dave was like – how do they do that? I was like I know right?!

Then the crowning achievement of the night arrived in the form of three inconspicuous looking crab cakes. I placed one on my plate and thought, *sigh* we always order crab cakes cuz Dave likes them and I’m always wishing I had calamari.. That was not the case after my first bite of this particular piece of art-food! Expecting a tough outer shell I instead recieved a perfectly crisped and moist bite of crab. The second bite I dipped in the mild spicy sauce served with this dish. It reminded me of tartar sauce but it’s not like any I’ve ever had before.. It looks like it’s made from sriracha and mayonaisse but it doesn’t taste heavy like mayo or overwhelmingly spicy like sriracha. Who cares it was amazing!

I’m in love with sino!!! I can’t wait to go back I think i will be dreaming about wontons and crab cakes and deep fried prawns until I do..
