Hemptress Handbags

Every time I hear the words eco-friendly and fashion, I cringe just a little. I hope for the best, but expect the worst. And unfortunately I’m usually right. But this time I was wrong! Finally a bag that placed fashion, style, trend and quality first. I’m quite excited to tell you about Hemptress line of handbags! I think we’ll be seeing them soon here in the Bay Area, but for now make sure you check them out and see all the amazing styles this line carries.

Line: Hemptress Handbags

Motivation: When Arlene Nilsson learned that it took two lambs to create one bag, and she set out to create Eco-Friendly, quality, and trendy handbag! Being that she had a background in the industry working for top lines such as BCBG, she knew how to create a bag that put fashion before the Eco- making it a must have item in any wardrobe!

Material: Repurposed Leather: Bonded repurposed leather trim is used through out the bag, placing it in the same league as many other high end handbags. The leather is combined with cotton and denim making it almost indestructible!
Hemp: Hemp is the strongest and most sustainable fiber on the planet and it is dyed with low impact dyes. Hemp also grows very fast with very little water, and uses almost no pesticides.
Lining: The lining is made with a silk/hemp blend lining. 65%hemp/35%recycled recycled plastic bottles!
Zipper: The outer zipper is made of high grade quality metal, and the inside zippers are made of recycled nylon! Everyone knows that a beautiful bag with a bad zipper, is just a bad zipper. But not with Hempterss, you get eco+quality!

Fun Facts: Hemptress ships with from GreenShipping.com, and donates a portion of their profits to “Vote Hemp”.

Fall Teaser: Fall bags will have courderoy, and fake fur! The inspiration for this collection was Burberry’s Fall 1 Bomber jackets! (This is going to be good!)

Recognition: Top 5 Finalist for Best Green Handbag at InStyle’s IHDA awards! Bravo!!!
