Gretchen Rossi – Eye Shadow

Ever since I found out about Gretchen Rossi launching her own make-up line, I was eager to see what it was that would make it unique! Gretchen herself is such a down to earth, natural beauty and her personality is pleasantly contagious that I was excited to put the make-up to the test!

The first thing that caught my eye was the combination of the color palettes. They’re not your normal gold, smoky eye, pinks and purples. I am not one to wear eye shadows on a daily basis, but once I saw different combination of colors in these palettes, I was intrigued to not only change up my normal eye shadow choices but also motivated to wear it everyday!! It was a fun experience, to say the least!

I started off with “Golden Girl” and found a shade of gold, bronze, brown, peach and cream. I loved how it brought out the green in my eyes and if that wasn’t enough to sell me one of my best friends asked me that day if I had gotten my make-up done! What I liked about “Goddess” was the different shades of pinks, purples and a brown to add some neutral. I had saved Vixen” for last, it had an amazing color combination for that classy smoky eye look with a twist of feminine flair. The palette included, blue, navy, a light and dark grey, and a soft pink that looks like satin! I love it!! The assortment in these 5-shadow palettes is what stood out to me about the most! Such a vast range of colors in each palette. It’s like each one had a different look, ready to be worn!

After applying the eye shadow, I coated my lashes with GCB curling lash black mascara and immediately fell in love with the brush, which was large and full, separating my eyelashes with no clumping, smudging or smearing. Even with 2 coats my eyelashes refused to clump and they felt soft and looked full and separated! And don’t we all want that in our mascaras ladies? The ultimate test though went to the lip-gloss, which went on silky smooth and didn’t leave any of the sticky lip-gloss build up that I despise!

The other thing that caught my attention…. was the mirror in the case! I cannot tell you how many times I could find a mirror useful in my eye shadow case!

Last but not least was the bronzer. And I have to admit that bronzer tends to usually scare me a bit, since I am so fair…every time I’ve tried bronzer, you can tell, and not in a good way. I should have tried Gretchen’s bronzer sooner, because it really made my skin look sun kissed and not so pasty. I think you will be able to tell a difference in the pictures from first to last!
