I always have a special view into fashion shows. Even though I’m there as press, I’m always a fashion lover and consumer first. My eyes anticipate the next must have item for my wardrobe, or something that knocks me out of my Jimmy Choo’s. I love letting my readers know about what I love, and I hope that they love them just as much I do. The Charity Fashion show was an amazing showcase of talent, and a great opportunity to see new and established designers. I got to meet amazing people, and watch a group of passionate fashion lovers come together to support an incredible cause looking as fierce as possible!
The event started off with Fans of Jimmy Century taking the stage, and let me tell you one thing– this girl can work a runway like no one’s business. No matter what kind of music you’re into, there in no denying that the vocalist Alice Perrone has an incredible set of pipes on her! The rest of the band was great also, but since I’m no music guru I’ll leave it at that.
The rest of the night was filled with great fashion and amazing energy both on and off stage. Without a doubt the love and heart that Thom Scher put into the event flowed right on to the stage. This event was a great example of passion, vision, direction, and leadership executed in a way that those of us sitting in the audience could feel it. Thom’s final speech was touching and heartfelt, and it was evident that even though Fashion ruled the night, Charity was the inspiration.
As I already mentioned a lot of great looks were presented Saturday night by amazing designers such as Danielle Pettee, Tosca Soraya, and Kent Denim. At every show there is someone that blows me away and at this show it was SWATI Couture that did it for me! I’ve literally figured out a thousand and one ways to wear this line! I can’t wait to get some pieces into my wardrobe and share it with you all!
I also had the privilege to work with a great photographer. Kanoa’s ability to catch the movement and the energy right off the runway really caught my eye. Make sure you check out his blog for more amazing pictures from the night.
Saturday nights fashion show was a testament to the power of a community coming together, and supporting a great cause. We were honored to help sponsor the event and can’t wait to see each and every person that gave take off and live their dreams!
